Our studio sits at 20808 Thyme Way in Jamul, so the rural East County build is not a market we expanded into. It is where we are from. We know how a country family lives on these parcels because we live on one too — the long drive in, the spot you watch the sun drop, the room you want for people and animals both.
A big rural lot gives you space most people only wish for, and that is exactly why the layout matters. Where the gathering space sits relative to the house, how far the pool is from the kitchen, which corner stays open for the dogs and the trucks and which becomes the quiet one. We work that out around how you use the property, and when a layout a client has in mind will not function on the parcel, we say so and bring one that will. The ground here is decomposed granite on varied terrain, so we build to last on it, and we walk you through materials early because the same build can swing two to three times in cost depending on what it is built from. Most lots run on a well and septic, which we plan around, but the first decision is always how the family wants to live outside.
